A man - who helped the US military - fled Afghanistan with his wife and children. ICE has detained him because of a paperwork glitch. For months, mom has been raising 5 kids, including twin infants/toddlers, alone. She needs our help.
Please bring these specific items (new) to our November 4 meeting: diapers (size 5, 6, and 7), winter baby clothes (sizes 12-18 months and 18-24 months), boys’ pajamas and underwear (sizes 6T and 7T), socks, and Wal-Mart gift cards.

US Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) is holding a town hall in Manchester. The event will be moderated by Politico’s Kelly Garrity.
Sign up is required. It will max out quickly, so do not delay. There is a 1-hour meet and greet from 6 to 7 PM, then the town hall runs from 7 to 8 PM.

It’s a great chance to decide: Do they get our stamp of approval?

The ACLU is hosting “read ins” during Banned Book Week.
George Orwell's dystopian novel "1984" is about censorship, government overreach, privacy, and the manipulation of truth. Its message is a warning we cannot ignore.

Winter Clothing Drive
We’re partnering with St. Vincent de Paul’s Clothes Closet to keep our neighbors warm this winter. There is a list of specific items needed. Please bring new items from this list to our October 7 meeting.
For children: socks, gloves, boots, and coats.
For women: socks, gloves, and boots.
For men: socks, gloves, boots, and sweatpants.
For households: Wal-Mart gift cards (with activation receipts attached).

Hampton Harbor Sunset Cruise
The weather did not cooperate for our fireworks cruise in August, so we have rescheduled to September. No fireworks - except the ones provided by Mother Nature.
We set sail at 5:45 pm. Advance sign up is required. Limit of 2 tickets per person and email. The event is FREE. Details are provided when you sign up using the link above.

Hampton. Seabrook. Kensington. Hampton Falls. Which town's Democratic committee rules the lanes? Come find out at the Seacoast Showdown: Democrats on the Lanes!
Lace up those bowling shows. Chow down on some pizza and salad. Talk a little trash with your neighbors and new friends. As is true with elections, it's a competition. We will have cool prizes - and someone will walk away with bragging rights.
Don't know anyone? Worried about putting together a team? Don't worry! We will assign everyone who signs up to teams. Our goal is to make new friends and enjoy some camaraderie in and across our four towns.

Sunshine Subcommittee Meeting
Join our team of caregivers. This group is focused on tuning in to the pain points of people in our community. When they are going through a tough time, this group will reach out to provide support and comfort. They will also focus on celebrating the successes and milestones in people’s lives to make sure we find creative and fun ways to lift up our friends and neighbors.
ACLU: Heritage and Harmony
ACLU NH invites you to this free event featuring local musicians Dave Talmage and Johanan Ruelas. They will perform music reflecting their Anglo-American and Mexican cultures and share the stories behind the lyrics. Through music and storytelling, Heritage & Harmony aims to foster understanding and build community.
There will be complimentary snacks and a cash bar. Please register in advance to let them know you will attend.

Our Economy Our Future is organizing a rally to let the legislature and Gov. Ayotte know the public demands a state budget that invests in working families — not the ultra-wealthy and not big corporations.
You can come to testify yourself (with testimony starting at 1:00 pm) or to show your displeasure with Republicans’ destructive budget by holding a sign and protesting out front.
